NZX Announcement - Appointment of Chief Executive Officer

Chris Sadler has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of NZ Windfarms Limited.

Chirs Sadler has extensive experience in the New Zealand energy market and has led several generation projects through development and construction, and into commercial operation.  Chris also has a depth of experience in capital and debt markets.


As an employee of Fletcher Energy, Chris took a leading role in the development of the Taranaki Combined Cycle plant and the Southwest Cogeneration plant in Perth.  He also participated as a team member in a variety of other generation projects including The Island Cogeneration on Vancouver Island and the pre-IPO development of Capstone Turbines as a static generator.


Since 2005 Chris has undertaken a number of projects for Vector Limited.  During this time Chris also led the demand side work for the National Winter Group and was a member of the Winter Security Group set up in 2008.


NZ Windfarms Chairman Derek Walker said "the Board is very pleased to have appointed someone of Chris's experience to lead the Company through the next stage of its development".


He said "Chris has the experience and skill set to oversee the completion of the fourth stage of the Te Rere Hau project and maximise the value of the project going forward".


Chris Sadler will commence duties full time on 20 September 2010.
